It’s going to be my first retro handheld and I’m looking between RG35XX H and RG353PS. My quick question is, which one do YOU prefer(your favorite)? I sometimes wonder why people would buy blatantly dubious things off Amazon like loaded rom cards, etc. Every time I buy anything off Amazon, Facebook knows immediately what I bought and begins bombarding me with ads. Thank you for the review. I was on the fence about buying but decided to hold on to my Odin 2 pro because I am not a fan of the overall design of the Odin mini. I am older and i appreciate the bigger screen. But I do like the brighter screen of the Odin mini but bigger battery of my Odin 2 pro is a plus for me. Great I am saving my $400 for something else.

Would love a comparison between the Odin 2 mini and retroid pocket 4 plus

IDK if I'm missing out by sticking with my Q2 SteamDeck, but just to keep it simple I'm fine with waiting for the SteamDeck 2. All these new devices release way too frequently

I have been in love with my Miyoo Mini and a lot of it is because of the GameSwitcher in OnionOS. Knowing that feature is now on Anbernic devices makes me interested in checking them out!

one thing i was hoping you'd do is a side by side of the mini against a retroid pro 4. one of the main reasons I didn't get the odin 2 was the size, so if the odin 2 mini is the same size as a retroid pro 4 it raises interesting questions

Just ordered an Odin 2 for the ergonomics but I fully expect that I will eventually getting a mini because the Vita has always been one of my very favorite handhelds.

Hey Russ, love your videos! My question is there has been some talk about a new OS for the A30. Are you anticipating a firmware release soon? I actually like this handheld, but the performance is hampered as you have reported. ✌️

I have an Odin 2 Pro and a Steam Deck and as much as I love the Vita form factor, I think I'd be more likely to buy an Odin 3 Mini than a second Odin 2 (for me to not really use anyway)

I feel like screen size shouldn't be included in the "best than/worst than" comparison. This is something that comes down to personal preference for all of these handhelds, even dating back to the GBA Micro. If you consider something smaller and more sleek for gaming on the go, its the same as looking at the Miyoo Mini vs. Mini+, the rg28xx vs rg35xx/SP, etc.-- different sizes, same exact internals, just comes down to preference (admittedly nostalgia factors in heavily for the newer Anbernic line as they've aped all the original GBA designs). Ultimately when buying an item called a "mini" handheld it should be blatantly obvious that the screen will be smaller-- and for a multitude of reasons, this is something people may actually view as a positive, unlike worse battery, heat output, etc. That's just a tiny nitpick, though, for an otherwise great review. Other things I'd have an issue with like, reachable controls or layout, were explained thoroughly and with video evidence to compare. It's just the screen size being in the negative column that makes me wonder how the comparison is even weighed objectively.

I never owned a hand-held console so hard that, when I got Pokémon Blue, my parents gifted it to me with the SNES cartridge to put Gameboy cartridges in. Why am I watching this? Maby one day... P.S. : RIP Yuzu.

Did they get Playstore device certification? The original Odin 2 doesn't have one, and it could cause a login issue for some game like COD Warzone.

Yeah, it really sounds like purchasing an Odin Mini 2 is matter of preference. Really unfortunate that AYN isn't selling an ergonomic grip to compliment the device though.

This is a beautifully well done device but not for $400 fucking dollars. When things like rp4 exist. I know this is more powerful but its also double the price.

It's always so weird to see Turnip Boy in a video or advertising. Went to college with the two that made it - awesome people and really glad to see them succeed. For the sequel, they worked so hard on it that they even moved in together while making it!

I think personally this appeals a lot more than the Odin 2, not only is it way more visually appealing, but also I want to be able to use android devices on the go from my pocket, otherwise I'll just use my Steam Deck. Thanks for the in depth review.

Dude, for 400 bucks. This is a HARD sell. Its basically the price of an already modded Switch OLED or a Steamdeck. Both are way way way better systems. Its hard to justify. If it were 300. Possible. If it were 200. STEAL. But 400 is a hard sell.
